For us, the New Year is truly a New Adventure. After years of thinking, discussing and procrastinating, we have finally made the move – Maine Home Connection is now an independent real estate company!
Effective January 24th we opened our new office at 19 Commercial Street in Portland.
We are in the downtown area across from the ferry terminal – in the historic building known as the “Workingmen’s Club”. From what we have learned, the building dates back to 1904 and has an interesting and colorful past. It was initially created as a place where longshoremen and railroad workers could gather to stay out of the cold (and the local saloons) when not working.
Our renovations included exposing brick walls, restoring old wood flooring, and various other updates, all with the intention of maximizing the historic feel of the original design with a modern ambiance.
Making the move with us is Julia Langham our Administrative Assistant – who is essentially Laura’s right hand man person and Susan Russell our Buyer’s Agent. Susan has a long and successful real estate career and has been with us for the last six months.
We are in the process of planning a formal grand-opening, so please keep an eye out for your invitation. In the meantime, however, if you are in the downtown area please stop by. We have parking!
This announcement would not be complete without a thank you to all of our friends and clients, without whose enduring support this new adventure would not have been possible. Going forward, if we can assist you or anyone you know in their real estate needs, we are only an email or phone call away.
