Lately, I’ve been thinking about this. In today’s world, people are often valued by how many followers they have.
But when I look at the most impactful people in my life… most of them don’t have much of a following at all.

In a world obsessed with likes, follows, and viral moments—there’s a real difference between being an influencer and being influential.

An influencer captures attention. Their value is tied to views, clicks, and engagement.
They curate a highlight reel and rely on algorithms to stay relevant.

Being Influential with Intent

And while there’s nothing wrong with that … it doesn’t always create real impact. Someone who is influential does something different. They change people. They don’t just get attention—they move people to act.
They build trust. They shift perspective. They create lasting impact.

They don’t just get attention – they move people to act.
They build trust. They shift perspective. They create lasting impact. Influence isn’t about going viral. It’s about legacy. It’s not measured in followers… but in real impact. So maybe the better question isn’t: “How many people see me?” But:
“How many people am I actually helping?”

Looking Past the Algorithm

It is easy to get lost in the digital static of numbers, metrics, and trends. But real estate, at its core, isn’t a digital landscape. It happens in the physical spaces of our lives – across kitchen tables on the Portland peninsula, during quiet walks through historic neighborhoods, and in the trusted handshakes that help neighbors build their futures here in Maine. We choose to look past the algorithmic noise. Our focus remains entirely on the preservation of our community and the real, lasting impact we can make for the families who trust us with their homes.

Because if your goal is to make a difference… don’t focus on the masses. Focus on the one person in front of you who needs your help. That’s how we’ve always approached real estate – and honestly, life.

Be influential. The rest is just noise.
