The term Zeitgeist is from German words Zeit meaning “time” and Geist meaning “spirit” thus creating the term: “the spirit of the times”.

Zeitgeist is most commonly referred to as the general cultural, intellectual, ethical, spiritual, and/or political climate within a nation or group, reflecting the general ambiance, morals, sociocultural direction, and mood associated with an era.

The video below from Google is a “Year in Review” that was created from its most popular searches of 2010.

Watching this video caused me (and probably the 1,360,049 other viewers to date) to reminisce about a year that not only flew by but included some much challenge and change.  As you watch this I’m sure each of us could easy compile a list of what was not included as well.

If you’re willing to share your thoughts, please comment below.  Perhaps a video of this type just about Maine might be interesting – attention all aspiring videographers!
