It doesn’t take long to forget about winter, especially when the weather is as nice as it was this last weekend in Portland Maine. The city has a beautiful waterfront – actually a few different ones. The video below is along the walking trail that connects Munjoy Hill and the downtown area. East End Beach includes a boat launch and a small sandy beach for swimming. As you get closer to downtown you will find a marina and other water-focused activities – like sailing!

The Narrow Gage Railroad also runs along the shoreline.

Warm temperatures, blue skies and salt air bring out many joggers, walkers, bike riders – and of course dog walkers. Saturday the first cruise boat of the city visited Portland and I heard many tourist comment that we are absolutely a “dog friendly” city!
